Siberian Fir

Siberian Fir – Turning into a wolf

Siberian Fir or Siberian Fur?

So mammy was cleaning the house, specifically the bathroom and she realized something. She couldn’t bear the smell of her cleaning products, to the point it was giving her a headache and she had to step out of the room. She thinks it’s because she’s been using her nose more identifying essential oils. I like to think it’s because she’s turning into a wolf. Either way, it was time to go sans chemicals in the bathroom.

Returning from their routine weekend trip to the home stores, mum was all abuzz with getting started on her first green cleaning product. Dad shrugged and put on the throwback jams station. Courtesy of Essential Living: Aromatherapy Recipes for Health and Home by Andrea Butje, mum found a recipe for grout scrub. The ingredients included white vinegar, baking soda, and the essential oils tea tree, lemongrass, and white pine. She didn’t have any white pine, so what did she use? Siberian fir. Told ya. Fir…fur…wolf?

After about ten minutes we had grout scrub and it smelled, excuse my French, expletive amazing (sorry, they say people who swear are earthy and honest). As for the tiles? Well they were sparkly clean and mum was full of impressed. As was I. Now we can make ALL the green cleaning things!

Side Note: That beautiful blue-eyed beauty you see there is our beloved Siberian Fur Husky “Zorro” who sadly left us in February 2015. We miss him so much…What an amazing dog!
