Surprise! First Blog Post by a Daughter for a Mother.
Going to let you in on a little secret that my mom will read about later: she has no idea I’m creating this first blog post as my contribution to aid her aromatherapy journey… surprise!
To cut a long story short, I’ve been nagging her to write, write, write as she travels along the path of becoming a Certified Aromatherapist. All of her ideas, plans, goals, hopes. Something she can return to later and pick apart, move things around, and re-evaluate.
But, alas, her 24 hours do not offer up as much free time as my 24 hours. Which is a shame, because for the last year or so, mum’s been on a mission to create her endgame. Aromatherapy. An exciting time that shouldn’t go without some form of documentation. For posterity.
Sooooo, I came up with this little plan only a few hours ago to create a blog called “Aroma Notes”. It started yesterday when mum made her very first candle as a birthday present for a friend. It was great. She was focused. Watched a tutorial. Melted beeswax. Beamed with pride at the result. And my response was, “Did you take any pictures?” As per usual, she flashed a shy smile and replied “I should have.” Yes, mom. Indeed you should have. You didn’t even write down some notes…or did you?
I sat there thinking on the missed opportunity to be able to see her growth from the very first moment. This wasn’t even her very first moment. She’s been aromatherapizing us for years, from hair oils to foot balms and inhalers. So, I’m going to give her a hand. Aroma Notes will be all about the journey from idea to the finish line as told by me, although I hope that she’ll write a note here and there cuz you know….that would be nice.
